Friday June 20.2003 / 12:00 pm E.S.T. I went up to the North Coast of Trinidad last night with a number of people and finally saw the leather back turtles laying eggs. An endangered species of sea turtle that only lay eggs in a few places, this is one and people (mostly geeky science types) come from all over the world to study this. We had to be quiet while this one came ashore and dug her nest, but when she starting dropping her eggs she goes into a trance-like state and we were allowed to take pictures, so here's the only two semi-decent shots I got. ::
